At Hold Tight Psychotherapy, I understand that sometimes life, emotions, and relationships can feel like they’re gripping a little too tightly. Together, we gently create space—so you can loosen the pressure, reconnect with yourself, and feel steady again.

services provided by Allison Clayton, RP
You're going to go through some really hard things in life. Things that at the time may feel impossible to get through. But you will. Sometimes it's going to feel unbearable. It's not as easy as just getting over it, you have to go right through it. Feel all of it to build yourself back up piece by piece. But you don't have to do it alone. People heal in spaces where they feel seen and safe. Here, we hold space for healing.

First, let Allison know you wish to start sessions, admin will email you back within 48 hours.

Before your first session, you’ll be invited to complete a few intake forms that help to understand what’s bringing you in, your background, and what you’re hoping for. This gives a gentle starting point, so when we meet, the focus can be solely on you—not just the logistics.
Sessions move at your pace. Together, we’ll explore what you’re carrying, make sense of your experiences, and build tools that help you feel more steady, connected, and in control.
Therapy here isn’t about fixing you—it’s about understanding you.

There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. Just come as you are.
Homework
Growth doesn’t just happen in session—it continues in the small moments in between.
You may be offered optional tools, reflections, or practices to try outside of our time together. This could look like journaling, noticing patterns, or trying a new way of responding to something in your day-to-day life.
There’s no pressure to do it perfectly.

Hi there, I'm Allison!
NICE TO MEET YOU
I’m the owner and clinician behind Hold Tight Psychotherapy.

I’m not a “sit silently and nod” kind of therapist. I show up with you—gently, honestly, and with intention. Some moments in therapy might feel reflective and quiet, others a little more active or practical. There may be laughter, there may be hard conversations, and there’s always space for you to be fully yourself without judgment.
With over 8 years of experience in the field, my approach is calm, collaborative, and grounded in both evidence-based work and real human connection. I draw from CBT, ACT, SFBT, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed therapy.
What that actually looks like in practice is this:
we slow things down, understand what’s underneath, and take small, meaningful steps that help you feel more steady in your day-to-day life.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m drawn to spaces that feel calm and grounding—being near the water, creating, and finding small ways to slow things down when life feels busy. I value softness, balance, and the idea that we can hold both strength and vulnerability at the same time.
At the heart of my work is this:
Sometimes life holds on just a little too tight.
And therapy is a space where we gently begin to loosen that grip—together.
